These new caladium varietes are sure to impress with their new colors and habits. Most of these are part of the Florida Flower Trials this year and are just making their debut to the industry. After a very warm fall left production a bit of a mess, these new caladium varieties are now starting to take hold and really put on a show.
It is amazing to see the development of these new caladium varieties in recent year and leaves me looking forward to what is coming down the line in the future. The varieties are from Classic Caladiums, Bates Sons & Daughters and Happiness Farms.
New Caladium Varieties by Grower:
Caladium ‘Fiesta’ from Bates Sons & Daughters. What a color combination! These are low growing, about 12″ tall with vibrant pink on white.
Caladium ‘Spring Fling’ from Bates Sons & Daughters- Transparent leaves that look like tissue paper but are very tough.
Caladium ‘Autumn Beauty’ from Bates Sons & Daughters. I’ve included both of these photos to show the variability in the leaves. Grown in shade, these have more of the chartreuse colors, but in full sun they will blush peach and orange.
Caladium ‘Sizzle’ from Bates Sons & Daughters. Very low with thick leaves.
Caladium ‘Pearl Blush’ from Bates Sons & Daughters. The largest strap leaf caladium I’ve ever seen. Each leaf is over 12″ in length and they are standing about 2 feet tall
Caladium ‘Allure’ from Classic Caladiums. Beautiful clean leaves. The veins are almost black on this pure white leaf.
Caladium ‘Southern Charm’ from Classic Caladiums.
Caladium ‘Freckles’ from Classic Caladiums. Love this! They look like a lot of the tissue culture caladiums being produced but are field grown. Their bright pink speckles, excuse me, freckles really stand out.
Caladium ‘Burning Heart’ from Classic Caladiums. Wow. This is the first time I’ve seen this color in a caladium. Gorgeous!

Caladium ‘Hearts Desire’ from Happiness Farms. I’ve added this one because of the nice color combination and also how well it came back from last year. These bulbs are twice the size as were planted and are producing an even better crop this year.
